How long is a class session?
Each session includes four weekly classes, and each class is two hours long.
When do new sessions start?
New class sessions start monthly from September through June.
During the summer, we offer kids sewing camps instead of regular weekly classes. Adult classes usually take a break in July.
What ages are kids classes for?
Kids classes are for ages 8 and up (must have finished 1st grade)
Age requirements help ensure students are comfortable using sewing machines and tools safely.
Are kids grouped by skill level?
Our kids classes include a mix of students who are new to sewing and students who have prior experience.
Rather than separating by level, we structure classes so each student can work at their own pace.
How does a mixed-level class work?
Projects and instruction are adapted to each student’s skill level.
Beginners learn foundational skills and simple projects
More experienced students work on more advanced techniques and projects
Instructors provide individual guidance so each child is appropriately challenged
This approach encourages confidence, creativity, and skill growth for every student.
Will beginners feel overwhelmed?
No. Our instructors are experienced at supporting first-time sewists and introducing skills step-by-step in a positive, encouraging environment.
Will advanced students still be challenged?
Yes. Advanced students are guided toward more complex projects and techniques so they continue to grow and stay engaged.
Who teaches the kids classes?
Kids classes are taught by industry professionals with degrees in fashion or related fields, with experience working with young sewists.
Do kids need prior sewing experience?
No prior experience is required. Beginners are welcome, and returning students continue building on their skills.
What should my child bring?
Fabric is included. Sewing machines and basic tools are provided.
